Reformer Pilates is similar yet very different to mat based Pilates. Reformer Pilates is done using the Pilates reformer machine and is generally more intense and more dynamic than mat based Pilates as it adds resistance to the Pilates exercises via the use of the springs which form part of the machine. The exercises usually work muscles through a large range of motion which is ideal for building and toning muscles as well increasing stability through the joints. Book now.
Mat pilates involves performing pilates exercises on the floor using a pilates, or yoga mat. Exercises in mat pilates can also involve basic pilates equipment such as a pilates ring, resistance band, or weighted balls. Mat pilates exercises are performed in a slow, controlled, precise manner and require an intense concentration. These exercises help strengthen the body's core by developing pelvic and scapula stability, and abdominal control, using focused breathing patterns. The main fitness goals of a mat pilates program include improved flexibility, muscle tone, body balance, spinal support, low back health, sports performance, and body-mind awareness.
Barre is an exciting fusion of Pilates, fitness training and dance. It is a challenging total body workout that uses the Ballet Barre as the main focus, whilst incorporating Pilates, cardio intervals, core work and dance concepts. Every class is different and will challenge you with the inclusion of bands, balls, weights and cardio intervals to achieve a toned, lean, supple, fit and balanced body. We vary each lesson so no two classes will be the same. No dance experience is required, we just use very simple, but highly effective movement patterns. Barre Pilates Fusion
